gets Best Students Branch Award.
ALIGARH January 21: The IEEE
Students branch of Z.H. College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim
University has been awarded ‘The Best Students Branch’ of the UP section for
2016.

Beg, Principal, Z.H. College of Engineering has congratulated students for
their excellent performance. Prof Beg also congratulated IEEE Branch Counselor
Dr Rihan for his able leadership and hard work.
New oxygen
manifold unit inaugurated
ALIGARH, January 21: Recently
established Oxygen Manifold Unit has been inaugurated at the J. N. Medical
College Hospital, Aligarh Muslim University.
Dr Obaid A Siddiqui, DMS, Gas Plant informed that the
manifold unit, which is an extension of
central gas plant at JNMC, will provide 24 hours Oxygen supply to the
critically ill patients of Respiratory Disease Ward, Critical Care Ward and
Cardiac Care Unit. He hoped that the manifold unit would prove to be helpful in
improving patient care in the concerned units.
The inauguration program was attended by Prof. Tariq
Mansoor, Principal and CMS, JNMC, Prof Harris Manzoor, Medical Superintendent,
Prof Mohd Shamim, Chairperson, Department of TB and Respiratory Diseases and Mr
Akram, Caretaker.
AMU To organize a
three-day International Conference On Theatre
ALIGARH, January 21:
The Cultural Education Center (CEC) of the
Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with the Indian Society of Theatre
Research (ISTR), the Indian Chapter of International Federation for Theatre
Research, is organizing the three-day "XIII International Conference of
Indian Society for Theatre Research" from January 23-25, 2017 on
"Travelling Performances and Theatre Cultures: Asserting the Praxis,
Paradigms and Perspectives".
Dr Vibha Sharma, Organizing Secretary of the conference
said that this congregation will bring together esteemed individuals in the
field of theatre from all over the world presenting a comprehensive overview of
the rapidly expanding nuances and subtleties in the world of dramatics.
She informed that Shri MK Raina, a renowned theatre personality
who has a long association with the National School of Drama, will grace the
occasion as Chief Guest while Prof David Whitton from Lancaster University,
United Kingdom, Prof Boris Daussa Pastor, Intitut de teater, Barcelona, Spain
and AMU Pro-Vice Chancellor Brig S Ahmad Ali (Veteran) will be the Guests of
Honor. The inaugural session is set to commence with the welcome address and
introductory remarks by Professor FS Sherani and Dr Vibha Sharma respectively
who have been putting in their efforts to make the conference a success.
Dr Vibha Sharma further informed that Prof Dattareya
Dutt, will deliver the keynote speech. She said that more than a hundred
participants from all over the country, belonging to universities like JNU, DU,
Kolkata University, Ambedkar University, Rajasthan University, Vardha University,
Lovely Professional University etc, would be participating in the International
conference, which will have three Plenary Sessions, nine Panels and ten Forums.
Apart from the indelible addresses, the assemblage will
be witness to Chau performance by a troupe from Jharkhand, Jatra performance by
a Delhiite group and a plausible nautanki based on Heer Ranjha by the Drama
Club of AMU.
