AMU Murshidabad Centre to organise International Seminar

Aligarh, January 11: The Murshidabad Centre of Aligarh Muslim University will organise an International Seminar on ‘Contemporary Issues and Challenges in Management, Law and Education’ on February 26, 2017. Delegates and scholars from different parts of the country and abroad will attend the programme to give deliberations and their views on the topic of the Seminar.

Faculties, professionals, research scholars, writers and experts associated with the field of management, law and education will also attend the seminar.

Patron of the Seminar’s Organising Committee, Dr Badaruddoza, Director, AMU Murshidabad Centre said that the objective of the Seminar is to develop in-depth knowledge and problem solving skills on latest issues and impediments in the field of management, law and education.

He added that for scholars, who are interested in submitting research papers for the Seminar should make sure that their papers must include rationale of study, objectives, research questions, hypothesis, research methodology, major findings, implications and references and the paper should not exceed a limit of 2, 500 words. Among other guidelines of paper submission are that the margins in the paper should be of 1 inch from all sides written in Times New Roman with 12 points with 1.5 line spacing.

“Full research paper in Ms-Word should be sent to seminaramuwb@gmail.com,” said Dr Badaruddoza.

The organisers of the Seminar have added that the submission of the extract will be allowed till February 1, 2017 while acceptance of the abstract will be on February 4, 2017. “It should be noted that the abstract does not exceed 150 words with 3-4 keywords and the title of the paper, authors (s), affiliations (s) and contact should be on the title page,” said the organisers adding that the full paper submission will be allowed till February 20, 2017.
   
“Academicians and others will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 1, 200 for participating in the Seminar, while research scholars can pay Rs 700 as fee for their participation,” further added the organisers. A circular issued by the Murshidabad Centre has stated that the registration fee can be paid through online modes, money transfers and Demand Drafts in favour of Murshidabad Centre Educational and Social Welfare Society through Axis Bank on Account Number: 916010049727679, Raghnunath Ganj Branch, Murshidabad, IFSC: UTIB0001329.    

Professor Valid A Ansari, Dean and Chairman, Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Studies and Research; Professor Iqbal Ali Khan, Chairman, Department of Law and Professor Mohammad Parvez, Chairman, Department of Education are in the Advisory Committee of Seminar.

Dr Nigamananda Biswas and Dr Amir Jafar are the Seminar Convener and Organising Secretary respectively.

The Secretarial Team of the Seminar includes Dr Md Rakiul Islam, Dr Syed Atif Jilani and Dr Aiyaz Ahmad Khan.  Dr S K Tibul Hoque is the treasurer of the Seminar.



AMU Vice Chancellor approves fresh appointments of Mentors and Presidents to various CEC clubs

Aligarh, January 11: The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran) has approved fresh appointments of faculty members as Mentors and Presidents for various University clubs of Cultural Education Centre (CEC).

Dr S Siraj Ajmali and Dr Mohibbul Huq have been appointed as Mentor and President respectively to the University Debating and Literary Club, while Dr Aminul Islam and Architect Faraz Farooq have been appointed as Mentor and President respectively to the University Western Music Club.

Professor Abdul Matin and Dr Sayed Khurram Nisar have been appointed as Mentor and President respectively to the University Fusion Music Club, while Professor Parvaiz Talib is the new President to the Club for Short Evening Courses.

Dr Waseem Mushtaq and Dr Rehana Khusrao have been appointed as Mentors to the University Fine Arts Club and Dr Abdur Rahman has been appointed as the President.

The University Drama Club will now have Dr Vibha Sharma as the Mentor and Dr Arman Rasool Faridi as the President.

The University Film Club will have Professor Suhail Ahmad Azmi as the Mentor and Dr Farooq Ahmad Dar as the President. Dr Aziz Faisal has been appointed as the President of University Hobbies Workshop Club.

Professor Mohd Aslam has been appointed as the Mentor of the University Hindustani Music Club, while Dr Quratul Aein Ali has been appointed as the Club’s President.

Dr Izharul Haq Farooqui and Dr Fasih Raghib Gauhar have been appointed as Mentor and President respectively to the University Eco Club.


Dr. Hashim Kidwai, former Rajya Sabha MP and AMU faculty passes away
ALIGARH January 11: Former AMU Faculty Member and Rajya Sabha MP, Dr Muhammad Hashim Kidwai (95) passed away after a brief illness in New Delhi. He was buried in Aligarh Wednesday after the Namaz-e-Asr. 
Born in 1921 in Lucknow, Dr. Kidwai completed his studies with a PhD degree in Political Science from Aligarh Muslim University and became a lecturer in AMU in 1948. He, however, left Aligarh to serve the nation as an elected member of Rajya Sabha in 1984.
During his stay in Aligarh, Dr. Kidwai served the University in various capacities including Proctor, Provost and President of the AMU Staff Association. He also served as the Keeper of the Duty Society and relentlessly worked for the restoration of the minority character of the University.
AMU administration has condoled Dr Kidwai’s sad demise and prayed solace for the bereaved family.
